A good first step is to start small and personal:
You don’t need fancy words just speak honestly to God, even if you’re unsure He’s there. Something like:
“God, if You are real, show me. Help me to know the truth and lead me where You want me to be.”
This kind of prayer opens the door without pressure.
Visit a Catholic Mass and just observe, listen, and take it in. You don’t need to participate fully if you’re not ready. The rhythm, Scripture readings, and sense of reverence can give you a feel for the faith in practice.
Try reading one of the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John). They’re at the heart of Catholic belief, and you’ll encounter Jesus directly.
If you feel comfortable, you might talk with a Catholic priest or join an Alpha Program at your nearest church or join an RCIA inquiry session (a safe space for asking questions about the faith, no commitment required).
The key is not to rush. Just take one small step and see where it leads.
